Current Appointments

  • Head of Haematology-Oncology Unit.
    Fourth Department of Internal Medicine, Oncology Unit, “Attikon” University General Hospital, Athens, Greece where 5,000 patients receive consultation and 2,000 patients are treated every year

  • Manage the provision of the oncology consultant service during all phases of assessment and treatment (including chemotherapy) both for inpatients and outpatients
  • Provide and co-ordinate the clinical oncology management of patients with cancer to ensure best practice is maintained and the best possible care is given to patients, working closely with a multi-professional team

Responsible for running weekly outpatient satellite clinics at three regional hospitals (Chester, Walton, Warrington Hospitals, Aintree, Liverpool) including a mobile chemotherapy unit. In addition, worked closely with radiation oncologists to treat patients undergoing combined chemotherapy and radiation with tumours of the central nervous system, head and neck, lung, breast, colorectal, cervical and uterine sarcomas

  • I am an active member of the European Neuroendocrine Tumor Society (ENETs) I am the National Representative and the Principal Investigator for the ENETs’ Neuroendocrine Tumor Registry in Greece.
    The study is supervised by the Hellenic Society of Medical Oncology (HESMO).
  • Gained extensive experience in evaluating different types of oncological cases and offering appropriate treatment across the spectrum of solid tumours (lung, breast, gastrointestinal, ovarian, urinary tract, prostate, skin)
    More specifically:
  • Responsible for the assessment and treatment of a range of solid tumours such as lung, breast, gastrointestinal, urinary and ovary
  • Set up, organised and currently lead a multidisciplinary team at a busy outpatient clinic offering assessment, diagnosis and treatment of simple and complex conditions three times per week. The clinic accepts referrals from other health professionals and self-referrals and provides 2,500 consultations on average per year
  • Evaluated different types of oncologic cases of patients at three regional hospitals (once weekly from Chester, Walton, Warrington Hospitals, Aintree Liverpool) in which they operated external oncology clinics with a mobile chemotherapy unit
  • Extensive experience in tumour staging, including sarcomas, upper respiratory, breast, gastrointestinal and gynaecological tumours
  • Place particular emphasis and attention on the psychological profiling and support of the patient and carers. Teaching carried out to nurses, doctors and students at any level by bedside training and role playing.
